I must have lost my mind. A certain 10k training, web designing witch cutie pie issued a challenge. Learn to do 100 Push-ups in a row in just 1month. I used to be a jock (No I didn’t).
I keep active (bending my elbow)
with golf (nineteenth hole)
and tennis (tacqueria with cerveza across from the court)
and hiking (gasping for air when walking the dog around the block).
I can do this!
My first push up in (mumble) years went something like this:
“Aaagh! Am I supposed to lift myself with just my arms?”
“AAAArgh! Nothing’s happening! Honey, how do I do this?”
“No wait, don’t pull me!”
“Oh my Gawd! I’m off the floor!”
“Oh Sheet! I can’t get down again! I can’t bend my elbows!”
“Aaaaaaaa! My knee’s going! I’m gonna crash!” Whomp!
Spouse: “That’s one.”
Now here’s a cool video of a gal and her friends who really can do some amazing things with push-ups. My favorite? The “Menage a Push-up”. Be inspired and enjoy!

You have to start somewhere! The fact that you called me a cutie-pie brought the LOLZ.
I suck (SUCK!) at pushups - so let’s do this together! I’ll do my test thing tomorrow. Today I’m uhhh….ummmm…. lazy.

A journey begins with a single step…a hundred push ups begins with one. Do not try. Do.

Hint: Start by staying on your knees. Build up your arm/shoulder strength first. THEN move to your toes.

I fully confess to doing girly pushups, as Ree suggests. Moving to my toes? Well, we’ll see…

I can’t quite do one, but if you do the plank pose in yoga, that’s supposed to help. It’s a beginning anyway.

(and thanks for the chuckles!)

Well, I did two, but I think I’m at a bit of an advantage because I’m still carrying around two kids that weight 35 and 28 pounds respectively.
I won’t tell you how long it took to get out of the first one and into the second one.
Um . . . why are we doing this again?
