What I learned in Nashville over the weekend:

  • I can totally take The Queen of Shake Shake in a girl on girl pudding wrestling match and that her hair really IS that gorgeous in in real life.
  • I should ask myself, “Do I look like a blog that’s gettin’ some?”-Megan of Velveteen Mind
  • “When it comes down to it we’re all just dorks at our laptops”-Mrs. Fussypants
  • Barbara Jones and the gang from One2One Network are not only incredibly resourceful and efficient, but truly charming and generous.  My personal thanks to Barbara for her amazing kindness this past weekend.
  • Chef Danny at the Hotel Preston makes a mean chicken picata with lump crabmeat and pouts a little when you won’t try just a leetle taste of his dessert samples.  By the way?  He’s cute, too.
  • “You (have) a product of value, and sometimes dancing like a monkey can get eyes on your product.”-Lotus of Sarcastic Mom
  • Techie talk is way fun over multiple Blisstinis
  • Jessie Baylin exudes warmth not only when she’s singing, but also when she’s charming an entire room.  Watch for a give away of her new CD at Canned Laughter next month.
  • The Beef Tenderloin with port wine demi-glace at Sunset Grille is so tender and delicious it makes my eyes roll back in my head and sets my girlie bits to tingling.  Oooh, Baby!
  • When you are tired and hungry and your bus passes a building with a sign that says “ASCAP” and you get the giggles and start repeating As Cap, Aaasssss Cap over and over like a twelve year old who’s watched too many Beavis and Butthead episodes, people WILL start moving away from you on the bus.
  • Epson’s Artisan All-In-One printers make amazingly clear crisp photos and cards, but they cannot make me look younger and more importantly, thinner.
  • Southern women understand the importance of great swag and LOTS of it.

But most of all I learned that despite being a shy,  nervous doofus,  the women of BlissDom 08 embraced me and inspired me and I will be waiting with bated breath for the next conference.  Please join me then, won’t you?

I’d totally join you and we’d party at the next one. But only if it’s closer to me - so I wouldn’t have to pay $10000 to travel. :o)

Hopefully next year my parents will be in town and I’ll be able to go! That sounds marvelous. I’m glad to know the Sunset Grille is still there. I have a special fondness for that place as I met Sam Shepard there once about a zillion years ago.

It really was the best of times at Blissdom ‘08. I came away with a lot of ideas, ways to improve and on and on. I loved putting a face with a blog and getting to chat about EVERYTHING.

Oh and the poor bartenders didn’t have a clue how to just start a production line for those Blisstinis. The line would have been around the block if not for 4 of them back there. Someone should put a bug in the ear of the next location for Blissdom ‘09 that there will be a huge rush for Blisstinis and we’ll all know to order more than one at a time too!

Good times! I hope we get the date soon so we can mark our calendars, make our plans and more ladies can make it.
