I spent the entire weekend sitting on my rump. With temperatures hovering around 105, my get up and go got up and went. It was so bad, on Saturday I went to the grocery, realized I’d left my wallet at home, turned back around and never returned. We ordered Chinese. Sunday, I didn’t even bother [...]

Forget Memorial Day Weekend. Around here it’s Prom weekend. And oh! Did the boy have a wonderful time! It was his first all-nighter (he stayed at the school lock-in until 5:00, then took a pack of girls out for breakfast), and it was my first all night nail-biter.

I give thanks for the education that allows me to savor Louis de Bernieres’ beautifully evocative Birds Without Wings.
I also give thanks for the dictionary that allows me to look up at least one word every three pages that I have never seen before. Sometimes it’s good to seduced and humbled at the same time.

Yesterday Bunnie and I had a nice girls’ day out that ended in the bookstore (as all the best girls’ day outs do). I suggested a book that I had liked when I was her age and it got me to reminiscing about the books I loved growing up. Here’s a list of books that [...]
