Happy New Year! It has been such fun peeking around the blogoshere at all of your wonderful resolutions! In particular, I loved Simplemom’s 20 Questions for a New Year’s Eve Reflection. Oh, to have an organized mind like hers!
Last year I made one simple resolution to remember the birthdays of my eleven nieces and nephews. I kept that resolution and intend to see it through again this year. I think in my case, the most difficult and rewarding resolutions are the concrete ones. I have a tendency to say, “Something’s gotta give”, and far too often I skip the small stuff that means a lot to others.
Case in point: I currently owe letters and/or phone calls to nearly everyone I know. Usually, I will simply crumple under the stress of being forgetful and say, “Something’s gotta give! I’ll just make it up to them next time.” I can be an inconsiderate oaf.
Therefore, My New Year’s Resolution for 2009 is to write reminders for phone calls I promise to make and thank you cards and letters I ought to send in my day planner AND to actually take care of them the same week.
Now if I could just remember where I put my day planner…
