Giveaway-Il Divo CDs

December 2nd, 2008 · 18 Comments

xmas music

Every morning I wake up with a list of chores and errands leftover from the day before.  I feel like the little old woman of Gotham who woke up every morning and swept the sand back into the sea.  The next morning she’d shake her head and wonder why the shore was messy again.  Why do I wake up every morning to a filthy house, drowning in laundry and dirty dishes? Flylady, don’t answer that!  I know the reason I can’t get the house finished for company. It is because people actually live here. How inconsiderate of them.

There are only so many waking hours in the day, and frankly I need more. That means something has got to give.  I’m afraid my bloved blog is going to have to be spotty  for a couple of weeks,  until I have more “me time”.  I’ll still be snarking it up regularly on Twitter. I need to yammer at you, even if it’s only 140 characters at a time, so come say hi.

Did I say something’s gotta give?  Well right now, I gotta give away some hot bestselling CDs!

One lucky commenter gets BOTH The Christmas Collection and The Promise CDs courtesy of One2One Network!  I’ll bet you know someone who would love to have Il Divo in her stocking.  Maybe it’s you?  This “Pop-era” quartet was the brainchild of American Idol’s Simon Cowell.  Over the last four years, they have been one of the hottest tickets around.  Their performances have sold out around the world. Their albums have sold in record numbers to fans of both Pop music and Opera. Now is your chance to get two of their bestselling CDs just for commenting.

All you need to do to win is to tell me what holiday song is your favorite and why.  I’ll pick a winner on Saturday and notify the winner via e-mail.  This giveaway has no mailing restriction.  Australian commenters, go for it!  Good luck everyone!

Oh I hear you about the insanity of housekeeping–esp. at this time of year. Good heavens! My fave carol is Joy to the World–I love singing it loud and proud at Christmas Eve service.

    Favorite song…

I have to agree with Ree. Carol of the Bells. I have always loved hearing it sung by a large choir.

“The Twelve Days of Christmas” encompases Christmas beyond belief. “Los Guapos” or “the handsome men with the voices from the Gods possibly can make the Gods of singing jealous!

My favorite christmas song is O Holy Night. Not sure what it is about this song but it gives me chills and almost brings me to tears everytime I hear it. Just to me is epitome of Christmas music.

    For real: Adeste Fidelis
For fun: Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer

The first, because it’s amazing in Latin. The second, because I always thought it would be funny if that really happened.

    Let It Snow
Because I am ALWAYS wishing for snow. Yes, I know that is such a sinful word to those of you that live up north, but when we get a tease of a dusting once a year, I always wish for just one good one to play in.

I love O Holy Night. Every year we attended the Christmas Eve service, at our church, when I was a child. Our music minister would sing O Holy Night. He had an incredible voice. To this day, when I hear O Holy Night, I can imagine him singing it. (Not that I wouldn’t enjoy Il Divo singing it!) Thanks for the chance to win!

I have always loved The Little Drummer Boy ever since I saw Bing Crosby and David Bowie perform it on a holiday special when I was little. That is a classic that will never get old!

    Thanks for the giveaway fun!

I have to say I love “Baby its cold outside.” I’ve always liked it, but this year my 4yo decided it was great and we sing it together in the car. I love that *he* loves it!

    Great giveaway!

My favorite carol is “O Holy NIght”. Have heard many versions of it and I bet DIVO has a good rendition too.
