Canned Laughter

It’s Easter Eve and I’m sitting around waiting for the Bunny to bring the baskets so I can lock the door behind her (mind your tail!). How better to kill the time than in front of a good movie. Was I watching the traditional “Ten Commandments”, or the uber-wholesome “Sound of Music”? I was watching this.

It’s the story of the transvestite prostitute son of an RC Priest in Northern Ireland during the worst of the IRA violence. I’m such an Easter rebel. Despite the violent setting, it is a lovely story of compassion and redemption. It is charming and adorable, the music is splendid and it even has talking birds. If you have the chance to see “Breakfast on Pluto”, I heartily recommend this film.
