This morning I needed to spruce up for a business dealio tonight. My regular (ha! like I really go regularly) nail gal wasn’t in so they sent me to gasp! a man. As further proof that I am turning into a little old lady, I was extremely uncomfortable having a boy touch my hands. If I wasn’t so tight on time, and if I wasn’t more terrified of making a scene than I am skeeved out by man-touch, I would have waited for someone else or left.
After the initial shock, I settled down and was fine with the guy. Then came the unthinkable. He did my pedicure. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. Remember that scene in Pulp Fiction when the hitmen are discussing the appropriateness of a foot massage? Well, I did. As a matter of fact, that was all I could think of in the pedi chair with a man who is not my husband kneeling at my feet. If those two macho hitmen wouldn’t let a man massage their feet, neither would I. I asked him to skip the massage. He did not. Again, I didn’t argue the point because I really really hate scenes.
I feel dirty Oh so dirty I feel dirty and cheap and sleaze-ay! And I pity Any girl who has her feet man-handled today! Poppet-Vietnamese Nail Shop Story

I totally agree with you. Getting my feet touched to me is very sensual, but I let a woman do it because, well, it doesn’t do anything for me other than feel good. But a man - I too would be rather hesitant.
Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode when George got a massage from a Man.
I don’t mind a man doing my hair, but pedicure, um, sorry it made you uncomfortable. I hope at least he did a good job. (and yeah, there’s a reason I have a female OBGyn too)

But the more important question is, how do your nails look?

I too am in agreement.
I go one week for the mani .. the next for the pedi and I make sure I have my fav girl by keeping a standing appointment.
Man-hands doing nails? Their’s are usually smaller and softer than mine!

That is a funny story. I’ve had one massage by a man–and he was short and plump and dumpy while all the other massage guys were HAWT. I was skeeved out and would’ve been by any other massage guy too. But a manicure! That might be worse…

I completely agree with you. I once had a man give me a pedicure at a nail salon and it was just uncomfortable to say the least. Love your site! And we’re neighbors, sort of, I’m in The Colony.
